Sassabrasses are metallic, defensive-offensive plants that raise the closest zombie to them in the air, stopping them from moving but keeping them from most harm.

Overview[]

When a zombie approaches Sassabrass, it will jab its barb into it, dealing 5 damage points. The Sassabrass then raises the zombie into the air, which stops the zombie from doing anything, but it also stops other plants to hit the zombie, with the exception of pult plants.

After 10 seconds, if the raised zombie is still alive, Sassabrass will throw the zombie to the end of the row, and then it will jab its spike into the closest zombie again.

Being metallic, Sassabrass can be charged. A charged Sassabrass has 18 extra damage points, and its attack deals 12 damage points, as well as dealing 1 damage point when it throws back the zombie.

If Sassabrass is eaten whilst it still holds a zombie, then the zombie will be dropped and free to go, but it will be slightly slower.

Sassabrass is based off of the sassafras root. Its name is a portmanteau of "sassafras" and "brass."

Plant Food Ability[]

Under the effects of Plant Food, Sassabrass will grow an extra large prong atop its head, allowing it to maim up to 2 zombies at a time.

Strategies[]

A charged Sassabrass is considerably strong for a 75 sun plant. Because of this, it is recommended for it to be planted in front of another already strong plant, such as Electric Peashooter or Citron. For Citron, Sassabrass can protect the Citron while it charges up.

Sassabrass can be seen as the go-to metallic defensive plant, more so than Zircornium . And as with all defensive plant, pairing it up with Spikeweed and such is an effective way of doling out damage. Bonus points if it is Electric Currant, as you can also end up charging the Sassabrass.
