Faceplants are offensive-defensive plants that take the zombies in front of them and slams them down behind them.

Overview[]

Faceplant lays its leafy platform one tile ahead of it. Once a zombie steps onto it, it waits for 1 second. Then, it picks up the zombie and throws it right behind it (close enough that it doesn't eat the Faceplant). This does 30 damage points to the zombie. It then has to wait for 14 seconds before it can do that again. During this time, it is vulnerable to attacks, but it is able to withstand a good amount of bites before dying.

It can throw multiple zombies at once, as long as they are on the leafy tile at the same time. Even though the Faceplant waits a second to attack, zombies cannot get off of the platform.

It is rooted into the ground, meaning that it cannot be plated on shallow ground, such as planks or Lily Pads.

It is not based off of any real-life plant in particular, but it bears some resemblance to a tree stump. Its name is a pun on the words "face-plant," which means "to fall on one's face." Specifically, it is based on the "plant" part in the word "face-plant."

Plant Food Ability[]

Using Plant Food on Faceplant causes it to force every zombie in its row to come to it. It then slams them once, dealing 40 damage points, and then throws the zombies forwards. The distance that the zombies are thrown forward varies. This also completely heals the Faceplant, as well as readying it.

Strategies[]

Faceplant won't kill every zombie. In a way, it can help zombies (with more health than the damage it deals) by pushing them closer to the house. Because of this, it is recommended to pair up Faceplant with Spikeweed, Spikerock, another defensive plant, or another Faceplant. Faceplant can also be used with plants that trap zombies, such as Butter Cuddle or Trapberry.

Like all defensive plants, placing a Spikeweed in front of it is also useful. It is not recommended to place important plants behind it, as they may be vulnerable to a zombie attack.

Trivia[]

  • In some ways, it can be seen as the counterpart to Chard Guard, as one is a defensive plant that pushes zombies backwards, and one is a defensive plant that pulls zombies forwards.
