New Year Imp was an Imp variant that being encountered in Plants vs. Zombies 2. He was encountered in Penny's Pursuit and Arena during December 26^th, 2020 onward until January 2^nd, 2020.

He will appear either by himself or being thrown by Father Time. If he was being thrown by Father Time, he acts just like any normal Imps. If he appear by himself, he possess some special abilities rather than act just like normal Imps.

He will stay on the 7th column and then start healing zombies around him when they're injured. If he sets up confetti, the plants will get stunned on his lane, but only one plant get stunned.

There was a chance that he will set up fireworks along the way. If the fireworks were launched and landed on the plant they target, it will explode on its tile. The explosion causing a splash damage, which deals 10DPS to the plants around the explosion.

When he was defeated, he will summon Zombie Chickens that rushes through three lanes.

Origins

He was based off Baby New Year.

Appearance

New Year Imp was just an Imp, but in a diaper. He has a red ribbon around his body and the number says 2021, alludes that he tied to New Year. He has a small brown hair and a red-yellow pacifier.

Strategies

Using Reinforce-mint's family plants, for example Wall-nut, New Year Imp's secondary ability cannot stun them, since they cannot attack him. Using Aloe around the explosion could heal the injured plants from the splash damage.

To defeat him (in his general form), you must use any instant-kill plants, like Jalapeno, to take away a half of his health.
