Mystic Mints is the fifth set of cards released by an update in Plants vs. Zombies Heroes. The update introduces 200 new cards, along with new traits and types of cards, and the new card type Mints. It was released on December 31st, 2021 for Android and iOS.
Story
When Neptuna gathered the Mustache Monuments, the ancient power she unleashed was too strong for her to control and created a Spacetime Pearadox! Now, Plants and Zombies from olden times are breaching the time-space continuum and dueling it out in a battle of epic proportions!
New Traits and Effects
- Haunted - When a card with Haunted is destroyed, the card that destroyed it is also destroyed.
Venom X - Plants with Venom get +X
when there is a Zombie in this lane. (Plant-exclusive)
- Drowsy X - When a Zombie with Drowsy hurts a Plant, it gets -X/-X (Zombie-exclusive)
- Producer X - Start of Turn: You get +X
this turn.
Challenge X - When this Plant takes damage, the Zombie that dealt it takes X damage back. (Plant-exclusive)
- Combo - When played, activate this ability if you've played another card prior to this this turn. (Zombie-exclusive)
- Pluck - Gain a random card from your deck that fits a condition. If you have none, Conjure one instead.
Also introduced in Mystic Mints are the new Mint cards. Mints act similarly to Environments, as they take up no space in the main lanes. Instead, they take up the whole board and add a passive effect to the match that can only be stopped by playing another Mint on top of it or by Bouncing the Mint.
General Changes
The in-game store, as well as in-game functions such as sparks, have been reworked or changed to make card collection easier and more enjoyable. Also new to the store are Mystic Mints packs, containing exclusively Mystic Mints cards.
- Event cards cost 1,500 Sparks instead of 1,000 Sparks to craft.
- They recycle for 750 Sparks instead of 250 as well.
- All Packs contain 10 cards instead of 6, now with a 40% chance for Super-Rares, 15% chance for Legendaries, and 7.5% chance for Heroes. Multipacks now contain 105 cards.
- Hero Packs now contain 14 cards instead of 6, and cost 150 Gems instead. Hero Multipacks are new and cost 1500 Gems for 150 cards.
New Packs
Other than the new Mystic Mints packs, new packs were introduced:
- Heroic Herbs packs, each costing 500 Gems and containing 50 Plant cards with the same odds as 5 packs.
- Ultimate Undead packs, each costing 500 Gems and containing 50 Zombie cards with the same odds as 5 packs.
- Extreme Environments packs, each costing 200 Gems and containing 20 Galactic Gardens cards, replacing 4 of them with a random Environment.
- Destructive Dinosaurs packs, each costing 200 Gems and containing 20 Colossal Fossils cards, and replacing 4 of them with a random Dino-Roar card.
- Forest of Fusions packs, each costing 200 Gems and containing 20 Triassic Triumph cards, replacing 4 of them with a random Fusion card.
- More Mints packs, each costing 300 Gems and containing 25 Mystic Mints cards, replacing 4 of them with a random Mint.
