Iceberg Lettuce is a plant found in Plants Vs. Zombies 3. He can be unlocked way further into the game. Iceberg Lettuce instantly freezes the first zombie that comes in contact with it for 10 seconds. The only zombie that outright ignores Iceberg Lettuce's freezing ability is the Ice Block Zombie. Iceberg Lettuce costs 0 sun and takes 20 seconds to recharge.

Iceberg Lettuce is based off of the plant of the same name, who made their debut in Plants Vs. Zombies 2.
Iceberg Lettuce is based on the real life iceberg lettuce, a variant of the plant Lactuca sativa, known as lettuce in English, with crisper leaves that grow in a spherical head resembling cabbage.
Iceberg Lettuce's name is pun on its icy based appearance and ability to freeze zombies.
Strategies[]
Iceberg Lettuce's non-existent cost and freezing abilities make it an ideal plant for early sun production building and emergency situations involving incredibly dangerous zombies, whether they're too close to your house or for having a ton of health.
By freezing a single zombie with Iceberg Lettuce, you can quickly build up sun production and start forging your defenses, or in the heat of battle, you can freeze a particular zombie and let your plants score some extra hits on it. For example, Iceberg Lettuce benefits Toxic Pea greatly, as its high sun cost and slow recharge time can be easily mitigated by slowing down the zombies' advance, giving you time to plant your Toxic Peas. Iceberg lettuce also helps by freezing high health zombies in place while the poisonous effects of Toxic Pea's attacks deal extra damage.
However, Ice Block Zombies are unaffected by Iceberg Lettuce's freezing ability, rendering it useless.
