Plum Gardes are offensive plants that slice zombies in half to impede them, as well as just slicing them in general.

Overview[]

When a zombie approaches the tile in front of Plum Garde, it will cut them in half, also dealing 1 point of damage. By doing this, the zombie is separated into its lower half (legs) and upper half (arms and head). The lower half of the zombie moves at a normal pace, activates lawnmowers, and can enter the player's house, but it cannot eat any plants. Instead it attempts to bypass the plants, with the same general effect of a Jetpack Zombie. The upper half of the zombie uses its arms to crawl at a slower pace, but it can eat plants quicker. Each half of the zombie has half of the whole zombie's health. If the full health is not even, then the upper body will have more health.

Once all of the nearby zombies are sliced in half, the Plum Garde will then proceed to attack the zombies. The sword deals 1 point of damage, and it attacks at a slightly slower pace than Bonk Choy.

Plum Garde's health is slightly elevated.

Plum Garde is based off of the plum, and its name is a portmanteau of "plum" and "en garde," a phrase usually said before a sword or fencing duel.

Plant Food Ability[]

If a Plant Food is used on Plum Garde, then the plant will proceed to cut all the zombies on board in half. This deals 2 points of damage to every zombie as well.

Trivia[]

  • An early design of Plum Garde was called "Plum Rum," and it simply acted as a Wall-nut combined with Bonk Choy. It also lacked a fleg.
