Beez are the first unique zombie encountered in Mischievous Honeyhive in Plants vs. Zombies 2.
Beez come in groups of 5 after every wave to damage random plants and zombies for 7.5 seconds, then they leave the lawn. Caramel Apple and Honey Tiles can lure Beez into attacking only a certain area/plant.
However, their behavior changes in Beez Invasion levels, the world's Brain Buster. In these levels, they will bring zombies and damage them and plants as well.
Origins
They are based on bees, flying insects closely related to wasps and ants, known for their role in pollination and producing honey.
Their flavor text references the many bee puns that there are in the English language.

There is not much to say about how to counter Beez, as they will damage plants or zombies no matter what. However, you can modify their targets by abusing Honey Tiles and Caramel Apple, so your plants are as least affected as possible.
